Admission

The admission of students to B.Ed course right from notification to the selection of candidates is presently made by the University of Jammu under Centralized Admission procedure. Prospective candidates are advised to go through University notifications (in local and national dailies besides the Website of Jammu University) and complete formalities in accordance with University guidelines for admission

 

No. of Seats

The number of seats allotted for B.Ed course in MIER College of Education by the University is 334, All seats are payment seats. Out of sanctioned intake, a certain proportion of seats have also been permitted to the College as “Management Seats” and the selection of candidates against these seats is done by the College in accordance with the guidelines of the University.

 

Fee / Other Charges

The candidates admitted to B.Ed Course by the University of Jammu are required to deposit fee and other charges as prescribed by the University, the details of which can be had from the University/College office at the time of admission. Fees and other charges are revised by the University from time to time. Difference in amount if any will have to be paid as and when demanded by the college authorities.

 

 

       

Scholarships

     

The College awards both merit and merit-cum-means Scholarships to students. The students are selected by a Committee appointed for the purpose. The students admitted against free seats quota by the University are however, excluded from this scheme.

     
       

Curriculum

     

The Syllabus and Courses of study in B.Ed, is as prescribed by the University from time to time and also governed by its regulations/statutes.

The  B.Ed. Course (General) consists of two parts:

Part- I (Theory) 700 marks
Part- II (Practice of Teaching) 300 marks

     
       

Practicum

     

A novel feature of the College happens to be the provision in the timetable of a daily practicum period in which workshops, seminars, discussions, demonstration teaching, team teaching, action research and other activities of outside the classroom nature are organized.

     
       

Uniform

     

Every trainee in the MIER College of Education will have to wear uniform compulsorily on specified days, special functions and during the days when Teaching Practice is on. The uniform prescribed is as follows:

GIRLS: Sky Blue Saree, Navy Blue Sweater, Navy Blue Blazer with College Colour.

BOYS: White Shirt, Grey Trousers, Tie, Navy Blue Sweater, Navy Blue Blazer with College Colour and Black Shoes.
