M.A. (Education)
The Master of Arts in Education (M.A. in Education) is a Two-Year (4 Semester) Full-Time programme that provides an opportunity for Students in the field of Education to pursue higher education and undertake advanced coursework and research. The course offers excellent career prospects in terms of advancement of knowledge and qualification and ultimately making them qualified professional and better researchers.
Objectives of M.A. in Education Programme
The M.A. (Education) programme aims at producing a team of well-trained individuals knowledgeable in education & its various dimensions. More specifically, the M.A.(Education) programme intends to:
a) provide learning-experience, which will enable students to understand and appreciate knowledge structures and paradigms of education;
b) develop professional for effective participation in educational actions in different areas of education; and
c) create a community of scholars adequately equipped for participation in educational discourse.
Curriculum
The Syllabus and Courses of study in the M.A.(Education) programme are as prescribed by the College from time to time and also governed by its regulations/statutes. The M.A.(Education) programme is of Two Years duration and is divided into four semesters. The candidate has to complete the course with all the components (Theory as well as Internship) in a maximum period of four years from the date of admission to the course.

Eligibility
A candidate seeking admission to regular M.A. (Education) Programme must have passed final year of Bachelor’s Degree Examination (10+2+3 pattern) with Education as an elective/additional subject from a recognized University/Institution with at least 40% aggregate marks (36% for SC/ST candidates).
No. Of Seats
The number of seats to the M.A. (Education) shall be 40. The selection of candidates shall be made on the basis of an Entrance Test and Academic Merit of the qualifying examination. The final merit shall be determined by giving a weightage of 30% to the marks obtained in the Entrance Test and 70% to the Academic Merit of the qualifying examination or as prescribed by the competent authority from time to time.
Attendance
A student shall be eligible for End-Semester Examination if he/she has attended not less than 75% of the lectures delivered in each course separately in Theory including seminars, tutorials etc. and successfully completed Field work/Internship (if any).
Fee and Other Charges
The candidates admitted to the M.A. (Education) Programme are required to deposit fee and other charges as prescribed by the college, the details of which can be had from the admissions office. Fees and other charges are revised by the College from time to time. Difference in amount if any will have to be paid as and when demanded by the college authorities.
Award of Degree
The Degree shall be awarded to the successful candidates by the University of Jammu. However, the Marks Certificates, Provisional Certificates and Migration Certificates shall be issued by the College.
Uniform/Dress Code
Every student in the college has to wear uniform compulsorily on specified days, functions and during the days when Teaching Practice is on. The uniform prescribed is as follows:
GIRLS: Pink Saree with Border, Navy Blue Sweater, Navy Blue Blazer with college Colour.
BOYS: White Shirt, Grey Trousers, Tie, Navy Blue Sweater, Navy Blue Blazer with College Colour.
