Admission

Candidates who have passed B.Ed. Examination from the University of Jammu or any other statutory University are eligible to seek admission in the M.Ed. course. Selection shall be on the basis of merit based upon the percentage of aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination. All admissions are subject to the approval of the Admission Committee constituted by the University of Jammu for the said purpose.


NUMBER OF SEATS

The number of seats allotted for M.Ed. Course in MIER College of Education by the University is 29.


FEE

The candidates admitted to B.Ed Course by the University of Jammu are required to deposit fee and other charges as prescribed by the University, the details of which can be had from the University/College office at the time of admission. Fees and other charges are revised by the University from time to time. Difference in amount if any will have to be paid as and when demanded by the college authorities.


COURSES OF STUDY

The Master of Education Programme (M.Ed.) is of one year duration and is divided into two semesters. It is a 44 credit course, split into two semesters. The first semester course carries 20 credits and 2nd semester carries 24 credits.

Ed- 6, Ed-7, Ed-18 and Ed-19 are Compulsory.  Any two optional papers out of Ed-8 to Ed-17. The optional subjects shall be allotted according to the specializations available in the College and   number of  candidates available for a particular  option.

The prescribed syllabi for the above courses is the same as prescribed by the University of Jammu. The dissertation is compulsory for all candidates during the second semester.
