One-day faculty interaction program for the faculty on Essential Skills by IIT Jammu

    The Centre for Essential Skills at IIT Jammu organized a one-day faculty interaction program for the faculty of the College . Faculty members from both institutions engaged in thought-provoking activities that highlighted their extensive expertise and
    experience and promoted a cooperative learning atmosphere.
    The faculty interaction program began with an introduction session by Dr.

Lakhvinder Singh,
Coordinator, Centre for Essential Skills, IIT, Jammu, who discussed different initiatives executed
by the centre and their accomplishments, followed by an interactive session by Prof. Bijoy Boruash, who focused on truth and knowledge, which influence the objectives of learning. He
substantiated his concept through examples and daily experiences. Prof. Anurag Misra deliberated on the significance of project work at the undergraduate level and, as supervisors,
what things we need to keep in mind while developing projects. Prof. Rakesh Singhal talked at length about different assessment styles and their use in measuring learning outcomes. He shared
multiple samples from his practical experiences. The session on creativity-thinking outside the box by Dr. Amitash Ojha, HoD CES IIT Jammu, not only included hands-on activities but also elaborated on neurocognitive limitations regarding creativity and provided strategies to promote creative thinking among students. Dr. Sayantan Mandal, through his research, elaborated upon
different challenges and confusions related to technology enabled learning. Prof. Sayantam and his scholar, Shariya Sareen, discussed what needs to be done; different strategies and models for effective implementation of technology enable learning.
