Teaching through Constructivist Approach

A workshop was organised on the theme “Teaching Through Constructivist Approach” for B Ed students of all Colleges of Education. Dr Jyoti Parihar, Associate Professor, Government College of Education, Jammu, was the resource person. The workshop aimed to enhance the understanding of constructivist approach of teaching as a part of the B Ed curriculum and teaching practice techniques. Student and faculty representatives from nine Colleges of Education participated in the workshop.

Dr Parihar explained the concept of constructivism and deliberated comprehensively on the different steps of the 5'E' model such as engage, explore, explain, elaborate and evaluate. Lessons in different teaching subjects were demonstrated by the pupil teachers. Faculty and students were asked to clarify their doubts and give suggestions to improve the lesson plans. Certificates were also distributed among the participants.
