Research Colloquium on "A Critical Study of Educational Philosophy of Bal Gangadhar Tilak"

The Centre for Educational Research, MIER College in collaboration with the Government College of Education, Canal Road organized a research colloquium at the MIER College campus under the MOU activities. The resource person for the research colloquium was Dr. Bindu Dua, Assistant Professor PG Department of Education MIER College, Jammu. She dwelt on her PhD thesis the topic for which was “A Critical Study of Educational Philosophy of Bal Gangadhar Tilak.” The session was chaired by Dr. Adit Gupta, Director MIER. Dr.

Renu Gupta, Principal and Vice Chairperson MIER College, Dr. Rajinder Kour, IQA officer Government College of Education, Dr. Neelam Dhar, Associate Professor Govt. College of Education were also present on the occasion. Dr. Dua did an analytical study on the socio-economic and political conditions of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak that determined his philosophy of life and shaped his educational philosophy in the later years. The study also focused on the relevance of Tilak’s educational philosophy in the current educational system. A lively interaction took place between the resource person faculty and students which paved way for further clarification of the concept of educational philosophy propounded by the great Indian philosophy.
