The college has well-furnished and spacious physical infrastructure as per normsspread in an area of 2.15 Acres. The college has 12 air-cooled classroomsequipped with modern educational technologies. All central facilities are airconditioned with twomulti-purpose halls having a seating capacity of more than 150 persons each,seminar rooms,2 libraries, computer and psychological laboratory, educational technology cell, common rooms and staff rooms along with an open air auditorium and play fields for students etc.
The College has two air conditioned fully automated libraries, one each for the UG and PG programmes with latest fixtures and furniture.The libraries have a collection of over 19000 books with subscription to around 80 Journals and Magazines. It is one of the best libraries in the region with a seating capacity for 100 students. Research papers, dissertations/thesis, bound journals (back editions) are also available for reference. The college library is also a member of INFLIBNET for online access to books and journal.A book bank facility for the needy students is also available in the library.
The MIER College of Education has various general and methods laboratories. These are:
1. Two Computer Labs.
2. Educational Technology Lab.
3. Educational Psychology Lab.
4. Language Lab.
5. Science Labs (Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs) located in the experimental school complex.
The college has setup a resource room for training the B.Ed. Special Education (ID) programme trainees in the art of providing an Individualised Educational Programme (IEP) for children with disabilities. The resource room is equipped with all the materials, that will be used for enhancing the skills of teachers when dealing with children with mild mental retardation and is an important aspect of their educational training and skill development.
The institution through its centre for educational technology provides access to e-content material for the teachers and learners. These are in the form of power point presentations and Video lectures etc. The college has its own You Tube channel where all educational content developed by teachers is uploaded for the students. The college has also created a repository of e-content which is stored and accessed by the students through the Google Classroom platform during their academic semester. Development of MOOCs has also be undertaken by the college using the Moodle platform.
The entire college is connected through a centrally managed campus wide Wi-Fi network using a fibre backbone providing unhindered access to the world wide web for the students. The college has three internet connections being served by a 100 Mbps leased line from Jio and two 300 Mbps FTTH connections from Airtel. The college has two Air conditioned computer labs with 70 computers and 15 additional computers for students pursuing higher degree through research in various departments of the college. All faculty members of the college have been provided with individual laptops and desktops with central printing facilities. Students pursuing M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes are also provided with individual laptops for research purposes.
The College has a spacious canteen catering to the students as well as the members of staff. A variety of eatables and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college at the affordable prices. The canteen is equipped with the latest electronic gadgets and refrigeration facilities, which ensures hot and fresh eatables and cool beverages both to the students and staff. The food quality and hygiene conditions of the canteen are regularly monitored by the canteen committee which consists of members from the student’s council as well as teaching and non- teaching staff.
The college provides facilities for photocopying, printing and scanning through high-speed photocopiers and printers which are available at various locations in the college campus including the UG and PG libraries.
The College has a fleet of buses for providing transportation to students and faculty. This service is offered to ensure a hassle-free and safe transportation at reasonable rates.
The College provides First Aid medical facilities to the students and staff. A Part-time Doctor and whole time Medical Assistant have been engaged for the purpose. Network with Medical Institutions has been established for routine check-up and emergency treatment of students.
To ensure continuous supply of electricity in the college, two generator of 82 KVA and 75 KVA capacity have been installed for the college.
The College has made all the necessary arrangements for providing clean and pure drinking water to the students and staff. During summer, fresh and pure drinking water is provided to the students and staff through the Water Cooler. The Maintenance Committee regularly checks the functioning of water purifier and water cooler
College washrooms are equipped with latest facilities providing adequate ventilation, lighting, fittings and washroom accessories. The maintenance committee ensures an effective washroom sanitising regimen to provide clean, hygienic facilities at all times.
