World Environment Day

To commemorate World Environment Day on June 5, 2024, the NSS Unit of the college organized a slogan writing competition on the theme "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience." The event was graced by Professor Adit Gupta, Director and Principal, Prof. Nishta Rana, Head of the School of Education, Dr. Monika Bajaj, Head of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dy. HOD Dr. Bharti Tandon, and other faculty members. Ms. Ashiya of B.Ed.

Semester II welcomed the guests and participants, highlighting the significance of the day.
Participants were given a platform to express their views on environmental awareness through creative slogans, emphasizing the urgent need to preserve the environment. The panel of judges, consisting of Dr. Reeta Dwivedi, Assistant Professor, and Mrs. Suman Gupta, Incharge of the Environment Unit at MIER College of Education, evaluated the slogans. The competition not only deepened the participants' understanding of environmental issues but also sparked their creativity.

The winners of the competition were:

First Position: Ms. Ananya, BA (Hons) Psychology, Semester IV
Second Position: Ms. Varsha Attri, B.Ed. Special, Semester IV
Third Position: Ms. Palak Jain, BA (Hons) Political Science, Semester IV
Consolation Prizes: Ms. Hitakshi Bakshi, B.Ed. Special, Semester II, and Ms. Azra Khatoon, B.Ed. Special, Semester IV

Prof. Adit Gupta commended the NSS unit for organizing the event, stressing the importance of World Environment Day as a global event to promote environmental protection and raise awareness about activities that harm the environment.

Ms. Prakarti Sharma, a student of B.Ed. Special, Semester II, proposed a formal vote of thanks. The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Komal Sharma, Programme Officer, and Mrs. Ayushi Grover, member of the NSS Unit, MIER College of Education.
