I-Survive Camp

The Co-Curricular Committee, MIER College of Education, Jammu, organized a two day adventure camp on 14th and 15th May at the picturesque Patnitop Hill Station, involving 48 enthusiastic students from the School of Education and the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. This camp was designed to provide a blend of outdoor adventure, team-building activities, and personal development opportunities for the participants.

The exercise aimed to foster mental and physical health, improve teamwork and leadership abilities, and offer opportunities for hands-on learning, as well as promote environmental consciousness and a relationship with nature.
The adventure camp comprised a variety of activities that challenged the students physically and mentally while promoting teamwork and camaraderie. The other activities included Flying fox, Single rope bridge, Free-fall jump, Commando wrapping, Nuptial knot and passing the Burma bridge, zip-lining session was organized, allowing students to soar above the scenic landscapes and enjoy an adrenaline-pumping adventure. Various team-building exercises and games were conducted to improve collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills among students. Evenings were spent around a campfire, where students shared stories and enjoyed music, fostering a sense of community and bonding.
The adventure camp provided a platform for students to step out of their comfort zones, face their fears, and build self-confidence. The participants provided overwhelmingly positive feedback, expressing their appreciation for the opportunity to engage in such diverse and enriching activities. Many students highlighted the development of new friendships, improved confidence, and a greater sense of responsibility as key takeaways from the camp.
The adventure camp was a resounding success, achieving its objectives of promoting physical fitness, enhancing team-building and leadership skills, and fostering personal growth among the students. Such experiential learning opportunities are invaluable in shaping well-rounded individuals ready to face future challenges with resilience and confidence.
The camp was flagged off from MIER campus by the Principal, Dr. Adit Gupta. Speaking on the occasion, he said that these programmes provide a stimulating combination of science, adventure, and teamwork. The faculty members Dr. Sahil Bhagat and Mr. Narender, accompanied the students.
