Van Mahotsav Week

DATE Jul 08, 2024

The NSS unit of the College was celebrated Van Mahotsav Week from July 1 to July 7, 2024, with a successful plantation drive involving students from the School of Education and the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. This initiative aimed to raise environmental awareness and enhance public green spaces.

Twenty-four students planted 25 saplings, including Amla, Mango, Neem, Peepal, Ashoka, Curry Tree, and medicinal plants like Tulsi and Aloe Vera, in public parks, government schools, hospitals, roadsides, and community areas during their holidays.
Students learned about the importance of trees and medicinal plants and received planting guidance. The drive highlighted the benefits of tree plantation, such as ecological balance, improved air quality, and health advantages. Support from local authorities and environmental NGOs amplified its impact. Professor Adit Gupta, Principal of MIER College, praised the NSS efforts in promoting environmental conservation and encouraged participation in social service activities. The activity was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Komal Sharma, Programme Officer NSS, and Mrs. Ayushi Grover, Member of the
NSS Unit.
