“I-Survive” Adventure camp

Co-Curricular Committee of MIER College of Education (Autonomous) organized an “I-Survive” Adventure camp at Patnitop, a picturesque hill station in Jammu and Kashmir UT. About 51 students. from B.Ed. and B.A Psychology ( Honours) along with two faculty members attended the camp. "I-Survive" is a unique initiative primarily targeted at the youth for attitude shaping and developing life skills.

The idea is to take students out of their comfort zones and instil in them essential survival skills to succeed in today's competitive world in addition to developing personality, leadership qualities, team spirit, risk taking, collaboration and camaraderie through adventure activities.
The "I-Survive" camp provide participants a unique outdoor experience as well as gives a chance to see the scenic beauty of nature while understanding the biodiversity of the region.
Packaged in a fun format, the camp delivers important learnings through elaborate debriefing exercises by expert trainers, hence it is a novel academic initiative for today’s youth. The camp commenced with the students being briefed about the precautions to be taken during the camp and were then divided into three groups with instructors. Along with fun games the participants were exposed to adventure activities like Jumarian, flying fox and rope climbing, passing the Burma bridge, crawling under the net, double rope bridge, trekking etc. The instructors were very patient and helpful. All the Children enthusiastically participated in the activities Bonfire added warmth in the cool evening. The camp was flagged off by Dr Adit Gupta , Principal and Director, MIER.
