OUTREACH AND COMPUTER DONATION DRIVE

The Extension unit of MIER College conducted an outreach programme and donated three computers to the Govt. Primary School in addition to two computers to the Anganwadi Centres at
its adopted village-Birpur. A team of 20 students along with the incharge Mrs. Suman Devi, conducted the activity. The computers were installed by Mr. Naresh, incharge ICT department who
also briefed them regarding its working and usage. The unit also organized an awareness programme on the “Ladli Beti Scheme” of the government wherein Mrs.

Meenakshi Samkaria ICDS Project officer, Vijaypur, Ms. Mansi Verma and Ms. Sarita students of B.Ed. Sem III were the resource persons. They said that the scheme “Ladli Beti” launched by the Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi is a campaign to generate awareness and improve welfare services intended for girls in India. The resource persons shared the schemes that the government of Jammu &Kashmir provide as a social assistance meant for girl child born on or after 1st April 2015. They also deliberated on the objectives and phases of the scheme. The villagers along with Panch and Sarpanch actively participated in the programme and appreciated the work of the unit.
