National Youth Day

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the NSS Unit of MIER College of Education celebrated the National Youth Day on 12th January 2023. The theme of National Youth Day 2023 was 'Viksit Yuva Viksit Bharat'. Students were enlightened about the philosophies, principles, ideology of Swami Vivekananda and the relevance of his teachings in the present day world. On this occasion the NSS volunteers took a pledge to dedicate their lives to humanity and service of the nation.

This was followed by showcasing of a short documentary depicting the life of Swamiji. More than eighty students of B.Ed. and B.Ed. Special Education department participated in the event.Dr. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal MIER College, appreciated the efforts of the NSS Unit for organizing such events. In his motivational address he highlighted the role of Swami Vivekananda and said that he was instrumental in introducing the philosophies of ‘vedanta’ and ‘yoga’ to the western world. The philosophy of Swami ji and the ideals for which he lived and worked is a great source of inspiration for the Indian Youth. He reiterated the fact that Swamiji revived the Indian cultural consciousness, awakened self-esteem in the Indian youth and created a new ray of hope. He gave valuable insight into how the youth in today’s world can take inspiration and lead a fulfilling life by following Swamiji’s ideologies and thoughts. He advised the students to follow their dreams and strive to achieve excellence in their respective fields.
