Inter College Symposium on “Vulnerability of Women to AIDS/HIV”

To mark World AIDS Day, an inter college symposium on the theme “Vulnerability of Women to AIDS/HIV” was organized by the Extension Unit of the College in collaboration with Shivalik College of Education. Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta, Professor and Head Community Medicine, Govt. Medical College, Jammu, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson MIER Group of Institutions was the Guest of Honour.
Dr. Jatinder Kumar and Dr. Harbaksh Singh, Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital were the honorable Jury members.

Ten students from various colleges across Jammu city participated in this symposium. All the participants expressed their views on the theme in a very succinct and impressive manner. Dr. Rajiv Gupta congratulated all the participants and said the theme of this year’s World AIDS Day is “End Inequalities, End AIDS, End other Pandemic.” On the basis of the results given by jury members, Ms. Neha Bargotra, MIER College of Education was awarded first prize, Ms. Kajal from Sai Shyam College of Education won the second prize, and Ms. Shai Bala of Govt. College of Education secured third position. Certificates were also distributed to the participants.
