A computer training programme for the children of Kabir Basti was organized by the Extension Unit, MIER College of Education, from May 9 to May 12, 2023, at its computer lab. The resource person was Mrs. Rohini Sharma, Lab Incharge, MIER College. The aim was to bridge the digital divide and increase access to technology for the children from socially and economically backward section of the society.
The four-day training programme focused on developing basic computer skills, such as knowledge about the computer hardware and software, use of operating system, word processing etc, among the children of Kabir Basti under the computer literacy programme. The computer literacy training is a capacity-building programme that empowers children to develop their skills in the use of computer applications and help them in becoming contributing members and digitally literate citizens.
