awareness programme on Tuberculosis and its Precautions and Treatment

The Extension Unit of the College organized an awareness programme by conducting a guest lecture on the theme Tuberculosis and its Precautions and Treatment at its adopted village. The main aim of this programme was to develop awareness regarding tuberculosis and its devastating health, social and economic consequences, in addition to its preventive measures. Around 15 students from the School of Education, MCE, participated in the activity along with their incharge, Mrs. Suman Devi. Dr. Manju Bhat, medical officer at the Govt.

Ayurvedic Hospital, was the resource person for the programme. Dr. Manju Bhat comprehensively deliberated on the topic. She also shared some preventive measures to reduce the risk of spreading TB among village people. In addition, Dr. Manju provided guidelines and said that TB is not a lifelong infection and can be cured by eating healthy, taking proper meals, taking regular medication and seeking professional guidance.
