Awareness program on Millet Promotion and Anemia Screening

The Extension Unit of MIER College of Education (Autonomous) organized an awareness campaign in collaboration with the Ayush Department, Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu, on August 8, 2023 at MIER. The theme was Millet Promotion and Anemia Screening”. Dr. Shivani Padha and Dr. Amardeep Kour, Medical Officer, Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital, were the resource persons. Around 80 students from School of Education and School of Social Sciences and Humanities, MCE, attended the awareness campaign. Dr.

Shivani Padha, comprehensively deliberated upon the usage of millets in our diet, which could help in controlling and curing many non-communication diseases. Dr. Amardeep Kour, talked about anemia, its causes and remedial measures. She also shared information about various ayurvedic medicines and immunity boosters. Free medicines and immunity kits were distributed among the students, teachers and Class IV employees.
