Nukkad Natak on the theme 'A World without the Ozone Layer'

To celebrate World Ozone Day, the Environment Unit of MIER College organized a Nukkad Natak on the theme 'A World without the Ozone Layer' at Bahu Plaza, Jammu. The natak was performed by a group of about 35 students of the college who highlighted the importance of the ozone layer and spread awareness about ozone depletion.

The students urged the masses to reduce emissions from automobiles and to minimize the use of modern equipment like refrigerators and air conditioners which release chlorofluorocarbons in the atmosphere which in turn are responsible for ozone depletion. The play demonstrated how the ozone layer shields the planet from the sun's dangerous ultraviolet rays, which can cause skin cancer in people. The natak also emphasized several methods for preserving the ozone layer. The dramatization of this subject by the students was very effective in spreading awareness of the significance of the ozone layer in the community.
