Sensitization Programme on Gender Discrimination

The Extension Unit of MIER College of Education in collaboration with NSS unit organized a sensitization programme on the theme “Gender Discrimination” at the Sarpanch Bhavan in its adopted village-Gharota near Bhalwal, Jammu. More than 50 student members of the unit along with their Incharge, Mrs. Suman Devi and NSS programme officer, Ms. Komal Sharma visited the village. The Sarpanch and Panches of the village along with the residents participated in the programme.

Three documentaries namely “Tamana,” “Parivartan” and “B’coz I am a girl” were shown which highlighted gender inequalities and importance of women’s health. Dr. Adit Gupta, Principal MIER College appreciated the efforts of the units for sensitizing the residents regarding gender discrimination and social stereotypes.
