An Educational Tour to Amritsar

The students of B.Ed. Special Education Sem.-II & IV and M.Ed. Sem.-IV programs at MIER College of Education (Autonomous) recently undertook an enriching educational tour on 8th Sept. 2024 to 10 Sept. 2024 The group visited the prestigious Department of Special Education at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, where they interacted with faculty and students to gain valuable insights into innovative teaching methods and inclusive education practices.

Following the university visit, the group proceeded to Pingalwara, a renowned institution dedicated to the welfare of underprivileged and differently-abled individuals. The students were deeply inspired by the selfless work being done at Pingalwara and learned about the rehabilitation and support systems provided for individuals with special needs.

The tour concluded with a visit to the Wagah Border, where students witnessed the iconic Beating Retreat ceremony. This visit infused the group with a sense of patriotism and pride in the nation's heritage.

This educational excursion was an integral part of MIER College’s focus on experiential learning, aimed at broadening the horizons of future educators, especially in the field of special education. The exposure helped the students gain a deeper understanding of various facets of education, community service, and national pride.
