Guest lecture on "Social Mobility"

The Alumni Committee of MIER College of Education organized an enlightening guest lecture on the topic "Social Mobility" today, tailored for the students of BA Hons. Sociology Semester I.
The lecture, aligning with the curriculum of courses 'Introduction to Sociology,' was delivered by Ms. Jai Mala Thakur, Assistant Professor, Sociology at Govt. Degree College, RS Pura. Ms. Thakur, an alumna of the B.Ed. batch of 2008 from MIER College of Education, brought a wealth of experience and insight to the event.
The event began with a formal welcome and an introduction of the distinguished speaker by Ms. Arpana Koul, followed by Ms. Thakur’s impactful lecture. She delved into the core tenets of Social Mobility, its meaning and types. The lecture was followed by an engaging interaction session where students posed insightful questions, leading to an enriching exchange of ideas.
Prof. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal of MIER College of Education, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Thakur and presented her with a certificate of appreciation for her invaluable contribution.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Bindu Dua, Assistant Professor, who expressed gratitude to the speaker and the organizers for the informative session.
