Online discussion on the theme: “Save Water Save Life”.

The Environment Unit of MIER College of Education organized an online discussion on the theme: “Save Water Save Life”. The students from UG department enthusiastically participated in the discussion.
Students of the UG deptt. shared their presentation on the theme and also the message that it conveyed such as water is a free natural precious gift and is vital for creating jobs and supporting economic, social and human development, water pollution is jeopardizing our health, unsafe water kills more people each year than war and all other forms of violence combined, and the challenge for availability of fresh water by 2050 will increase by one-third than it is now.
The students presented their innovative and creative ideas, ways and means to save water in our daily lives like turn off the tap while brushing teeth, swap out water pipe for a can to water plants instead, use leftover water from boiling vegetables to make soups, take shorter showers, use the minimum amount of detergent etc.
The online discussion was very inspiring. Dr. Adit Gupta, Principal MIER College of Education appreciated the initiative taken by the students and Mrs. Suman Gupta, In-charge Environment Unit to take action to save water. Ms. Shaweta Langeh of B.Ed. 3rd semester ably conducted the programme and a formal vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Sheetal Thapa, B.Ed. 3rd semester student.
