MIER College of Education celebrated the International Day of Yoga on 21st ofJune 2020. This year the theme of International Day of Yoga is ‘Yoga @Home and Yogawith family’ because of COVID-19 Pandemic. Students of PG and UG department performed various activities related to the theme such as poster making, live screening of Doordarshan’s national telecast to foster the sense of participating in the nationwide yoga movement, awareness with self-made posters, and write-ups, practicing yoga with family etc. Students enthusiastically participated from their hometown such as Jammu, Doda, Ladakh, Kashmir etc. during the preceding days to acclimatize the body to yogic exercises and yoga. They performedYogasans such as Kapalbharti, Pranayama,Dhyana, Samkalpa, and Meditation as per the common protocol issued by Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Dr Adit Gupta , Principal MIER College ofEducation appreciated the efforts of students of the college and said that Yoga is an important source of exercise and healthy activity which helps to keep students not only physically but mentally and psychologically healthy in present times of stress and strain.
