To commemorate the World Health Day, the extension unit of MIER College of Education (Autonomous) organized a couple of events namely free medical camp and an awareness lecture on the theme “Common Health Issues” for the residents of Domana village. The camp was organized in collaboration with the Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu.
Dr. Vandana Dogra, Medical Superintendent Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu sent a team of two medical officers, two pharmacists, and one yoga therapist for organizing the medical camp namely Dr. Sonika, Dr. Lotika Bharti, Ms. Nidhi, Smt. Seema and Sh. Mohd. Shafi.
Thirty students from the U.G and P.G departments of the MIER College along with the Incharge of the Extension Unit Mrs. Suman Devi visited the village. During the general medical check-up of the residents, 155 inhabitants were diagnosed with various ailments such as anemia, hypertension, gastric issues etc. More than 225 free medicines and immunity kits were distributed among the villagers. In addition, sensitization session on the theme “Common Health Issues” was organized by Dr. Sonika and Dr. Lotika Bharti who comprehensively explained common ailments and also the significance of a balanced diet.
