Diploma in Gender Studies

ABOUT THE COURSE

The Diploma in Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary programme that explores the complex relationships between gender, society, culture, politics and economics. It seeks to unravel the traditional and evolving roles of gender in shaping identities, social structures and power relations. The programme is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in gender theory, critical feminist perspectives and social justice frameworks.

The curriculum will focus on examining historical and contemporary issues related to gender, empowering students to critically analyse and challenge the systemic inequalities prevalent in various social institutions. In addition to theoretical learning, this course will emphasise practical skills such as research methodologies, advocacy techniques and policy analysis. Students will engage in projects, case studies and fieldwork that examine gender issues in real-world settings, preparing them for careers in academia, social work, public policy, human rights organisations, media and corporate social responsibility roles.
