Admission to Ph.D. (Education) Programme |
1. Admission to the Ph.D. Programme in the subject of education shall be made on the basis of an Entrance Test and Academic Score for the candidates who fulfill the eligibility conditions.
2. Candidates having qualified UGC – NET in Education including JRF, SET, Teacher Fellowship Holders or those who have passed M. Phil. (Education) through regular mode with admission through Entrance Test shall be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test for the Ph.D. Programme.

Components of Entrance Test |
The following shall be the components of the Entrance Test for Ph.D. (Education) Programme of three-hour duration and with no negative marking: |

There shall be 08 descriptive (essay type) questions and a candidate has to attempt any FIVE. Each question is to be answered in about 300 words. Each question shall carry 10 marks |

Merit shall be determined as per the criteria given below for the candidates who qualify the Entrance Test: |
i) Academic weightage - 50% of the marks obtained by a candidate at P.G. level
ii) Entrance Test weightage - 50% of the marks obtained by a candidate in two papers.

Interview |
An interview shall be held for the selected candidates for their research interests/areas through presentation |
Admission to M.Phil. (Education) Programme |
1. Admission to the M.Phil. Programme in Education shall be made on the basis of an Entrance Test.
2. The candidates having qualified UGC – NET in Education (including JRF) /SET / SLET / Teacher Fellowship shall be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test
3. In case seats remain vacant, Entrance Test shall be conducted after advertisement and admission be made on the basis of composite score obtained in the Entrance Test.

Admission to M. Ed.
and M.A. (Education) Programmes (50 seats each) |
1. Admission shall be made on the basis of an Entrance Test and academic merit in the qualifying examination from any recognized University i.e. (i) B.Ed., (ii) 4-year Integrated B.A., B.Ed., B.Sc., B.Ed., (iii) B.El.Ed., and (iv) D.El.Ed. with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each) for M.Ed. programme and Bachelor’s Degree Examination with Education as an elective/additional subject for M.A. (Education) programme. The final merit shall be determined by giving a weightage of 30% to the marks obtained in the Entrance Test and 70% to the academic merit of the qualifying examination.
2. There shall be an objective type question paper comprising 80 questions of one mark each. The components of question paper shall be:

The duration of the Entrance Test shall be ninety minutes. |

Admission to B. Ed (150 Seats) and B. Ed. Special Education(MR/ID) (30 Seats) Programmes |
a) 75% of the sanctioned seats available in the College shall be filled from amongst the eligible candidates who:- |
|
i) are Graduates or Post-Graduates of the University of Jammu;
|
OR |
ii) belong to areas falling within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu but have passed the qualifying examination from a University other than the University of Jammu.

OR |
iii) Such employees of the Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings or any other Organization recognized by the University of Jammu as are posted within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu or wards (sons, daughters or spouses) of such employees.
|
|
Provided further that wards of Kashmiri migrants in other parts of the Country are also eligible for admission to the B. Ed./B. Ed Special Education (MR/ID) Course under Local Category of the admission within the 75% of the sanctioned seats in order of merit, provided such a candidate produces a documentary evidence of belonging to a family registered as Kashmiri Migrant.
b) The remaining 25% seats shall be filled from amongst the eligible candidates who neither belong to the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu nor have passed the qualifying examination from the University of Jammu.
All admissions in the College shall be provisional till the candidates are regularised by the College after proper scrutiny of the documents.
